This week we talked about three parts of our brain: the prefrontal cortex, amygdala, and hippocampus. The prefrontal cortex helps you make good decisions, the amygdala acts like a security guard to keep you safe, and the hippocampus stores your memories. When we get stressed out or angry, information swirls around our head like glitter in a jar. When we calm down we are able to make a good decision. We worked on breathing as a way to calm our bodies.
